Chickens

Well I took the leap and got me some chicks! Bailee and I are having so much fun with them. Rob and the boys seem to care less, although I think Jordan has a slight interest but he wouldn't admit to it. We got our baby chicks the day after Easter and they are growing like crazy!
People have asked me why I decided to get chickens and honestly I just want to know where my food comes from. I know it's not realistic to grow all my food and be completely self sustainable but each little bit helps. Not to mention these chicks are seriously entertaining! If you are wondering if I'm going to kill them for meat the answer is no! I will leave that to someone else if it gets to that point.
We ordered our chicks through the mail . Since we did it that way we got 25 chicks! No, I don't have them all. My sister took most of them. I ended up with 8. Bailee's favorite is Dot, the white Leghorn. My favorite is Friz. We don't know what she is since the hatchery threw in a couple extra chicks. I will introduce the others later. I will keep you posted on their progress.
